Halimah has one of the most niche and cool markets Matboard and More has even seen! She creates artistic educational posters for Dentists and uses our mattes for display!
I’ve been an artist as far back as I can remember. Creating pottery out of mud in the backyard, mashing wild berries to make paint, helping my mom paint walls in the house, decorating rooms, etc.
I always knew that whatever profession I would choose, I would incorporate art into it. I became a dental hygienist 10 years ago and had to figure out how to express my artistic side. I started an art company, Kouink®, where I design educational and entertaining dental posters. Posters are translated into Mandarin, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Thank you to Timothy Estey for sharing some beautiful panoramics with our matting!
The collection is titled Still Noir and is comprised of 20 images in the “film noir” style, and all matted with matboards from Matboard and More.
Timothy is a Boston area photographer servicing all of New England and beyond.
He loves working in all types of photography, however, he is exceptionally passionate about working with actors, musicians, and models. Work that can really get creative and collaborative. His full body of work can be viewed at www.timothyestey.com.
I am a full-time artist working in my home studio. My preferences in art are rooted in the St. Petersburg’s tradition of painting, which developed from the ideas of the Russian Avant-Garde. In my childhood and youth I was fortunate to study under Solomon Levin who was a well known art teacher/artist in St. Petersburg (former Leningrad, my home city). I have lived in US since 1998. I am a member of Associate Artists of Pittsburgh and show my works at exhibitions and Pittsburgh’s galleries.
Laura Hunt is a long time customer of Matboard and More. She uses our materials to sell on Etsy along with many of our customers. See how you can as well with our selling art online guide.
My work is a balance of representational and abstract work. One type of work freshens me for the other. I currently use the media of watercolor, collage, and stamping. Many pieces begin with the spontaneous blending of color puddles, followed by strips of paper glued down in layers. I may hand-carve a stamp that supports the theme, and press its image down where it helps develop the composition. I enjoy the opacity of stamped ink and paper contrasted against the transparency of watercolors.
Since childhood, I’ve been drawn toward the making of art. I graduated from Wisconsin State University with a degree in English (I’m a word and pictures person.). My main career has been in graphic design, with several “mini careers” along the way in fine art. I’m now concentrating on fine art. And while the activity of expressing my ideas through art completely engages me,
what I love equally is the way it connects me with people. It lifts my spirits to watch someone first notice the work, then step closer for a better look, then become totally engaged with it. It’s a conversation that begins alone, but isn’t actualized until the viewer responds to it.
I have two grown sons and two granddaughters. I am a native Texan, and call Fort Worth my home. With world class museums and a vibrant art community, this is a stimulating place to be an artist.

My name is Carolyn and I am an Artist/Designer. My love for art started at a very early age. As a little girl I was always creating, drawing and making cards. I always knew art would figure prominently in my life, professionally and personally.
I studied at the College For Creative Studies in Detroit, where I earned my BA in Graphic Communications. I am an established professional graphic designer, and recently made a switch in priorities from a Full Time Graphic Designer to Full Time Fine Artist. It has been so rewarding to focus more on fine art. Acrylics are my medium of choice, and my subject matter changes from day to day. I enjoy experimenting with all types of subject matter, color and techniques.
My paintings are for sale on artfinder.com. I recently was invited to exhibit my work at the 2015 CCS Alumni Exhibition and had a one women show at Cranberries Café in Goodrich, Michigan. Also, I have paintings exhibited at the South Haven Art Center, in South Haven, Michigan and the Crooked Tree Art Center in Traverse City Michigan.
I am inspired by Vincent Van Gogh, Jackson Pollack, Mark Rothko, Andy Warhol and so many more! From abstracts to realistic landscapes and flowers, I am exploring it all and enjoying every moment.
